 About Our Consultant

Talena R. Mathis has over 23 years combined experience in healthcare, ministry leadership, Marketing & Public Relations. She has been involved in pageant coordination, radio broadcasting, and has served as the Special Projects Coordinator for Shands Healthcare of Jacksonville (Community Affairs).  One of her major accomplishments involved the planning of a city-wide Super Health Fair corporately sponsored by the NFL, at the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.  Talena also has a proven track record of strengthening vendor relations, maximizing corporate revenue, and increasing company visibility among partner associations. 

Talena serves as the Worship Arts pastor for Living Faith Church of Argyle (Orange Park, FL) where Her father is the Lead Pastor.  Her ministry endeavors there have lead to a new marketing focus in ministry visual arts.  She is studying the details of building stage sets, backdrops and theatrical design for worship services and will incorporate these relevant, cutting edge techniques into the Worship Arts ministry at her church.

Formerly known as “Dr. Mathis” in her previous profession as a Dentist, she is a graduate of Meharry Medical College (Nashville, TN), and a proud alumni of Jacksonville University and William M. Raines. Talena is currently pursuing a degree at Florida State College as a Mortuary Science major. She is continuing her lifelong work in biological sciences with a career transition into the field of Bereavement Management & Funeral Services, Forensics (Coronor) and Tissue & Organ Procurement. Alongside these goals, someday, her desire is to teach Human and Gross Anatomy within a Medical School setting.
